Integrating Geopolitical, Cybersecurity, and Operational Signals for Dynamic Third-Party Risk Intelligence in United States Supply Chains

Abstract
United States supply chains increasingly depend on globally distributed networks of manufacturers, logistics providers, technology vendors, cloud platforms, and specialized service organizations, creating interconnected exposures that conventional third-party risk assessments may inadequately capture. Geopolitical instability, cyber threats, operational disruption, trade restrictions, infrastructure failures, and supplier concentration can interact dynamically, transforming localized vulnerabilities into cascading supply-chain consequences. This study develops an integrated framework for dynamic third-party risk intelligence by combining geopolitical, cybersecurity, operational, transactional, and supplier-dependency signals within a unified predictive environment. Temporal analytics and machine-learning techniques are applied to identify emerging deterioration, anomalous behaviour, persistent risk patterns, and cross-domain interactions before significant disruption materializes. The framework incorporates supplier-specific baselines, dependency mapping, explainable risk attribution, prediction confidence, and continuously updated composite risk scores to support differentiated early-warning classifications. Risk intelligence is subsequently connected with proactive interventions including supplier engagement, inventory protection, alternative sourcing, cybersecurity escalation, and continuity activation. The proposed approach advances third-party risk management from periodic, domain-specific assessment toward integrated, forward-looking intelligence capable of strengthening operational resilience across complex United States supply networks.
