HOMEOPATHIC SCOPE IN DISORDERS OF THE VASCULAR SYSTEM

Abstract

 The vascular system maintains tissue perfusion, oxygenation and haemostasis. Vascular disorders include peripheral arterial disease, chronic venous disease, varicose veins, thrombosis, aneurysmal disease and microvascular disorders. Diagnosis requires clinical assessment supported by investigations such as ankle-brachial index, Doppler ultrasonography and vascular imaging. Conventional management includes risk-factor modification, pharmacotherapy, compression therapy, exercise and revascularisation when indicated. Homoeopathic materia medica describes several remedies associated with venous congestion, varicosities, haemorrhagic tendencies and circulatory symptoms.
